Mobility cane producer Ambutech Inc. already had a website at the onset of this project. Unfortunately it had a few shortcomings that needed to be rectified. First, it's design was a little dated. Second, the user experience could have been a lot better. Third, it wasn't accessible.

Bio Design Works worked closely with partner Notion Design to create a revised version of Ambutech.com that fixed these problems. We focused heavily on accessibility and made it a priority to serve visually impaired customers by supporting screen reader browsers.

Complete Contrast Switching
AmbuTech.com features a contrast switcher and font size adjustment tool that makes it easier for visually impaired users to work with the site. When the contrast setting is set to "High Contrast", the entire website changes to a high contrast view (as seen in the screenshot). The effect has been thoroughly implemented throughout all pages and features of the site.

Easy Order System
Because of the highly customizable nature of Ambutechs products, the website features an "Easy Order" system. Customers can select their cane type and configure options for number of sections, folding or rigid, colour, length, and more with a easy to use process.

Express Order System
Some customers of Ambutech already know the product numbers for what they want to buy. These customers can use the "Express Order" system to simply enter in the product number and quantity and have it added to their cart.
